9-12 “Open Your Eyes” Category - PDF
The high school production teams will be producing a fundraising Public Service Announcement for their client, the San Diego Food Bank. Each team has a choice of two topics. The winning school for the “Open Your Eyes” categories will receive a Sony HDR-HC9 MiniDV HD Handycam® Camcorder.

Alternate entries such as Flash or 3D animation, stop-action photography, old-school hand-drawn animations, etc. can be submitted into any category, provided the entry addresses the California State Standards and/or required topics.

The NEW Video in the Classroom Category (replacing the Teacher Category)
This category is now open to teachers, media specialists or other technology support providers. The objective of this video is to document the process of creating a classroom video. You may include actual footage of the process, interviews with teachers and students, and narration by teachers or students. The process may include ALL or PART of the process, such as brainstorming, writing, acting, camera work, directing, editing, and obstacles encountered.  The submitted videos will be archived to show how teachers have successfully used the video production process as a learning tool.


Additional iVIE awards for Special Achievement will also be presented at the judges' discretion.
