Broadcast Journalism refers to the practice of disseminating current events via the media of television. News Bulletins are programs of varying duration that provide updates on world, national, regional or local news events. A newscast typically covers news events and other information such as sports coverage, weather forecasts, traffic reports, commentary, and other material that broadcasters find relevant to their audience.

Good Journalism practices

• Use fair and balanced presentation of the news, without biased judgments.
• Research your topic, thoroughly checking your facts for accuracy
• Report the truth without staging of subjects or putting words in the subject's mouth
• Acknowledge and attribute sources of factual information.
• Use respect and sensitivity in the use of unflattering images. Unflattering images of minors must not be recognizable. Any use of a minor's face must be accompanied by a parental consent form.
• When dealing with unflattering images, be sure to characterize what you are showing accurately. If showing an adult, who can be identified, and discussing a condition or problem that may be considered to be negative, make certain that your facts are correct and that you have permission from the subject to discuss personal matters. You can get that permission on tape or in writing. Other options include shooting subjects form a distance with a wide angle lens, blurring or adding effects to the video, or shooting in a way that avoids seeing the person's face or making them recognizable.
• Creatively seek out sources that can speak to the news topic (friends, relatives, acquaintances, etc.)
• Be sensitive to racial, ethnic, and gender stereotypes in the selection of images
• Use all images and sounds in a purposeful manner, not just because it looks or sounds cool
