Can anyone compete in the iVIE festival?
Any K-12 student attending school in San Diego County may enter the iVIE competition. There is also one category for teachers. Amateur video entries only, please.

Do I need to order tickets to the festival?
No, the tickets will be sold at the box office for $5 per person.
How do I know when my child’s video will play?
A schedule of the iVIE Festival can be downloaded here. The video times are estimated, however the schedule may be ahead of behind by 15 minutes, so please allow time in your schedule.
Do I need to come to the festival if I am attending the iVIE Ceremony on May 25th?
The iVIE Festival is the only place you will be able to see the nominated videos in their entirety on a BIG screen. Coupons for a free drink or popcorn will be given to all iVIE attendees.
When will the Special Achievement videos be shown?
They will be shown in the same category they were submitted. The Special Achievement videos will be marked with an asterisk in the Festival program.

Do I need a ticket to attend?
Now that the iVIE Ceremony is in a larger theater, you do not need a ticket to attend. You may bring as many guests as you like. However, if your film is nominated, please see the following question.
My film was nominated. How do I get tickets?
Each nominated video received four reserved tickets in an area nearest the stage. Your teacher will need to login to the ticket site and reserve these tickets. The tickets will be sent to the teacher. All other nominated students may seat anywhere else in the theater on a first-come, first-serve basis.

How do other students, teachers, and others get tickets?
Due to the size of this theater, there is no need to reserve tickets to attend this event. When theater doors open at 5 PM, attendees may sit anywhere that is not marked “reserved” for nominees or presenters.
Is there parking near the Civic Theatre?
There is fee-based parking at the Concourse Parkade across the street, at 1st Avenue and B Street, for $10 per vehicle. Horton Plaza, just a 7-minute walk, has 3 hours free parking with a validation at the kiosks throughout the mall. Please be aware that there is an $8 per hour charge after 3 hours. Also, the trolley stops just a block away at 3rd Avenue and C Street.
What should I wear to the iVIE Awards?
Award Ceremony attendees should dress appropriately for an Academy Awards-style event. Jeans, t-shirts, or midriff tops, or hats are not acceptable attire for this event. If you can’t wear it to school, please don’t wear it to the ceremony. Dress to impress! You might be on camera.

There are a variety of fast-food and casual restaurants in Horton Plaza. Nominees will be receiving a Horton Plaza coupon book with their tickets. You may also check the Horton Plaza information desk for coupon books.
